Courtney is a lighting designer and programmer currently based in Miami, FL. Originally from Kansas City, they received a Bachelor’s in Theater Technology and Design from Northwest Missouri State University in Fall, 2019, and their Master’s in Entertainment Lighting Design at Southern Methodist University in Spring, 2023. Currently, Courtney works as the Lighting Director at the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, designing and programming lighting for the symphony concerts as well as a large variety of rental clients in the venue, and scheduling and overseeing all maintenance of NWS lighting equipment. In their previous role as the Assistant Technical Director at UT Dallas, Courtney worked as the Resident Lighting Designer and Production Electrician for the Theater and Dance departments, designing lighting for musicals, dance pieces, and a variety of other concerts, rentals, and events. Other recent works include La Maupin: The French Abomination at Prism Movement Theater, and prohibido, a pa de deux choreographed by Ariel Rose to the world premiere piece of the same title by Orlando Garcia at the New World Symphony.
